Officials: Man struck by train north of Felida dies at hospital

A man who struck by a freight train north of Felida early this morning has died, officials said. Firefighters responded to Northwest Krieger Road near Northeast 179th Street, between Felida and Ridgefield, for the emergency, reported at about 7:30 a.m. A man in his 30s was sitting on the tracks when the northbound train approached and tried to brake, but the man was struck and thrown 60 feet down an embankment, Clark County Fire & Rescue Spokesman Tim Dawdy said.

Clarkston voters decide whether to continue funding EMS services

Voters in Clarkston will soon decide whether to continue helping fund Clarkston’s ambulance and emergency medical services. It’s a tax measure that goes up for a vote every year that helps pay for ambulance services in the city of Clarkston. If the measure is approved this year, taxpayers will pay $1.

Three mobile homes destroyed in Spokane Valley fire

Spokane Valley fire said three mobile homes on East Sprague caught fire around 6:30 p.m. Monday. Fire crews said all three homes were destroyed. Investigators are calling the fire suspicious. The mobile homes are located behind the Zips on East Sprague near Sullivan. Smoke could be seen from a mile away.
