Dozens of people packed into an Auburn gym on Tuesday night to try to get answers about a recent string of arsons.
Seventeen fires have been set since mid-September, and police say they're doing everything they can to figure out who's setting the blazes.
But nervous homeowners say they're worried they could be next.

Thousands of dollars worth of beer and wine went up in flames Tuesday night in Westport.
Firefighters were called to the Cranberry Road Winery on South Forrest Street and State Route 109 just after 6:00 p.m.
By the time crews arrived, the entire building, which also houses the Bog Water Brewery, was engulfed in flames.

The city’s firefighters are sabotaging a cost-savings plan by calling in sick and claiming on-the-job injuries, Public Safety Commissioner Steven M. Paré said Tuesday, citing statistics and a handful of incidents that point to what he describes as a “manipulation” of the Fire Department’s injury policy.

PHOTOS - Local police officers and firefighters donned some new uniforms Friday to play superheroes for pediatric patients.
Dressed as popular superheroes such as Spiderman, Batman and Captain America, members of SAPD’s SWAT team and SAFD’s Rescue Team rappelled down the side of North Central Baptist Hospital while numerous children watched through their windows.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has released Phase One of its first Local Fire Department Wildfire Preparedness and Readiness Capabilities Study. The study takes a look at current preparedness and readiness levels of local wildland/urban interface (WUI) fire departments that have experienced a significant wildfire event in recent years, and identifies the most important elements in a WUI fire protection program, including response and community risk reduction efforts.
