Utah fire station upgrades ambulances with latest technology

VIDEO: Roy City Fire and Rescue Station 31 replaced its aging fleet with two new ambulances. And on Saturday, KSL got an inside look at the new ambulances. The station went into service last week and has already gone out on calls. They said this gives their firefighters and first responders a way to provide better patient care.

'Family tradition' keeps Pennsylvania fire company alive at 100 years and counting

Five generations of Schellhammers have passed through the ranks of Cover Hill Volunteer Fire Co., which is celebrating 100 years of battling fires, floods and other tragedies. The Schellhammers and others recognize the strong bond among the families that have labored side by side since 1923 in Conemaugh Township, Cambria County.

Woman found dead after fire in vacant building in Seattle's U-District

A woman was found dead after an abandoned building caught fire in Seattle’s University District Sunday evening. The Seattle Fire Department first reported the fire on the 800 block of Northeast 42nd Street around 8:45 p.m. Sunday. Crews were able to get the fire under control shortly after arriving at the scene.

Firefighters in Snohomish County ask for help to improve response times

Snohomish County is growing: the U.S. Census Bureau reports that it has added more than 100,000 people since a decade ago. Now, however, some firefighters say it's affecting how fast they can respond. One Snohomish fire station's chief says staffing cannot keep up with higher call volumes and overlapping calls.
