Yakima Firefighters have seen an increase in arson incidents over the past few years. Intentionally and maliciously setting fires is a crime that could result in felony arrest and investigations tap into more resources than just the fire department alone. A house fire sent one man to the hospital with severe burns this morning at Empire and Crestline. The fire sparked about 4:45 a.m. When crews arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the home. Officials say crews inside were searching the second story on their hands and knees, when they found a 70-year-old man.
