Mobile home destroyed in Forks fire; no injuries reported

A Clallam County Sheriff's deputy looking for car prowlers instead found a mobile home fire early Sunday morning, according to the Sheriff's Office. No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured, said Sgt. Jim Dixon, Sheriff's Office West End supervisor. Forks Fire Department firefighters doused the blaze, Dixon said.

Family of man killed in collision with North Kitsap fire engine sues for negligence

The family of a man killed in a collision with a North Kitsap Fire & Rescue engine on July 4, 2014 is suing the department for negligence. Jason T. Foster’s family filed suit in King County Superior Court on Oct. 7. Named as defendants are the department and Scott Sommers, the firefighter behind the wheel of the engine when the crash occurred.
