Kent Fed-Ex warehouse evacuated over hazardous materials scare

A chemical spill at a Kent warehouse forced workers to evacuate the Fed-Ex facility late Wednesday night. Firefighters from the Kent Regional Fire Authority responded to a reported chemical leak at the building in the 6200 block of South 228th Street, Kent FD reported. An employee driving a forklift inside the warehouse accidentally punctured a 55 gallon drum, a fire department spokesman told Q13FOX News.

Richland man admits assaulting firefighters, nurse, officer in two separate cases

A Richland man was sentenced Wednesday to one year and three months in prison for attacking four firefighters as they tried to extinguish a small blaze in his apartment. Nelson Aguayo was awaiting trial on that case when he slapped a nurse at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, destroyed medical equipment and spit on a Richland police officer.

Masked firefighter returns with anti-mayor sign in Memphis

Amanda Swain took the latest photo of the masked firefighter holding his most provocative sign yet. This one berated Memphis Mayor AC Wharton for speaking about the death of Memphis police officer, Sean Bolton, when retired police and firefighters have had their health care benefits slashed. “I hate that it was pretty out there, but at the same time I think that if we get a little bit louder and a little big out there,” Swain said.
