Thousands of dollars worth of beer and wine went up in flames Tuesday night in Westport. Firefighters were called to the Cranberry Road Winery on South Forrest Street and State Route 109 just after 6:00 p.m. By the time crews arrived, the entire building, which also houses the Bog Water Brewery, was engulfed in flames.

The city’s firefighters are sabotaging a cost-savings plan by calling in sick and claiming on-the-job injuries, Public Safety Commissioner Steven M. PHOTOS - Local police officers and firefighters donned some new uniforms Friday to play superheroes for pediatric patients. Dressed as popular superheroes such as Spiderman, Batman and Captain America, members of SAPD’s SWAT team and SAFD’s Rescue Team rappelled down the side of North Central Baptist Hospital while numerous children watched through their windows.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has released Phase One of its first Local Fire Department Wildfire Preparedness and Readiness Capabilities Study.
