Firefighters Burn Institute in California marks 50 years of service

Each year, an estimated 7 to 12 million people worldwide sustain burn injuries that require medical care. That trauma can lead to long recovery, absence from work, school, or even death. Amid those dark statistics is a bright spot in Sacramento: The Firefighters Burn Institute, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023.

EMS in Central Texas training bar owners to stop bleeding during mass casualty events

Austin-Travis County EMS and firefighters explained how to help save a life during mass casualty situations through the "Stop The Bleed" course on Monday. According to the Gun Violence Archive, last year, the U.S. saw more mass shootings than days, with 647 occurrences. Its data also shows this year we've seen nearly 40 mass shooting before January is over.

Driver crashes into Seattle Fire Station after brake failure

PHOTO: Seattle police responded to the scene of a crash at Seattle Fire Department Station 10 on S Washington Street in Pioneer Square at around 9:26 a.m. Monday. According to a tweet from the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the driver of the car experienced a brake malfunction and crashed into the station doors.

Man arrested in connection with Brewmaster’s House arson in Tumwater

A man was arrested for arson on Monday after surveillance cameras captured him lighting the Brewmaster’s House building on fire on Jan. 21, according to the Tumwater Police Department. Just after 6 a.m. Saturday, Tumwater police and crews with the Tumwater Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Deschutes Parkway after someone reported seeing the Brewmaster’s House — a historic home built in 1905 and formerly known as the Henderson House — on fire.

Sheriff: Nine semi-trucks damaged in possible arson in Parkland

A fire damaged nine semi-trucks in Parkland Sunday morning in what the Central Pierce Fire Marshal is calling suspicious and possible arson. Just after midnight on Sunday, firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the 11400 block of Steele Street South. When they arrived, they found several semi-trucks on fire inside a fenced lot.
