Doctors gave him a 1% chance to live; Now he’s a professional firefighter in Colorado

After sustaining a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle accident five years ago, it seemed as if Jimi King’s dream of becoming a full-time firefighter vanished in an instant. Doctors at St. Anthony’s Hospital, who had at first given him just a 1% chance of surviving the crash, were slightly more hopeful after King came out of a four-day coma.

EMS in Central Texas training bar owners to stop bleeding during mass casualty events

Austin-Travis County EMS and firefighters explained how to help save a life during mass casualty situations through the "Stop The Bleed" course on Monday. According to the Gun Violence Archive, last year, the U.S. saw more mass shootings than days, with 647 occurrences. Its data also shows this year we've seen nearly 40 mass shooting before January is over.

Driver crashes into Seattle Fire Station after brake failure

Man arrested in connection with Brewmaster’s House arson in Tumwater

A man was arrested for arson on Monday after surveillance cameras captured him lighting the Brewmaster’s House building on fire on Jan. 21, according to the Tumwater Police Department. Just after 6 a.m. Saturday, Tumwater police and crews with the Tumwater Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Deschutes Parkway after someone reported seeing the Brewmaster’s House — a historic home built in 1905 and formerly known as the Henderson House — on fire.
