A huge rescue response saved five people from the waters of Lake Washington overnight after two boats collided in the darkness. One of the boats sank quickly to the bottom of the lake. An 86-year-old man died trying to fight a brush fire near his home in Marysville Thursday afternoon. Marysville firefighters received a report of a fire burning brush down a steep embankment near the 4100 block of Meridian Avenue. They then received a report that a person had fallen down the embankment, Marysville fire officials said.
