Yakima arson incidents on the rise

Yakima Firefighters have seen an increase in arson incidents over the past few years. Intentionally and maliciously setting fires is a crime that could result in felony arrest and investigations tap into more resources than just the fire department alone. New Oak Harbor fire station takes one step forward with approval to advertise

Oak Harbor Fire Chief Ray Merrill is taking one small step forward in a project that’s been talked about for at least a decade. He won approval from the City Council last week to advertise for requests for qualification to find a firm to conduct a feasibility study for a second fire station in the southwest quadrant of the city.
