Three Opelika firefighters are home safe with their families after getting separated from their boat when their scuba dive went horribly wrong off the coast of Pensacola.
We spoke with the men about their 12-hour ordeal in the ocean where they encountered 10 foot tall waves, dehydration, hypothermia, and the fear of shark bites.

A fire early Monday in north Merced, sparked by smoldering fireworks, burned two homes, including one owned by an on-duty Merced city firefighter.
Flames broke out around 3:30 a.m. on Theresa Lane, melted two gas lines and struck a propane tank, causing major damage to firefighter Kevin Buccola’s home.

Taunton firefighters executed a “daring” rescue of a disabled woman at a mobile home in the city that became consumed by flames in the early hours on Monday, said a lieutenant for the department.
Taunton Fire Department Lt. Greg Galligan gave a firsthand account of how Capt. Matt Arruda and Pvt. Joseph Santos made an incredible, but treacherous, effort to save the life of a woman who was trapped in her bedroom during a rapidly growing fire at 207 White Oak Terrace, at the Leisure Woods community development, around 1:30 a.

A spectacular fire destroyed Eugene's historic Civic Stadium on Monday evening and prompted the temporary evacuation of a two-block area, the fire chief said.
Fire crews found flames shooting twice the height of the structure when they were called to the stadium at about 5:30 p.m., police spokesman John Hankemeier said.

It has been two years since the tragedy at Yarnell Hill – 19 Arizona firefighters died battling that blaze on June 30, 2013.
On Monday, the families of 12 of those firefighters announced they've reached a settlement in their lawsuit against the state. The 12 families in the suit will each receive $50,000 for their loss.
