MT State University Gets Approval for Fire Station Utility Easement

The Montana Board of Regents approved a utility easement for the construction of a new fire station during its Tuesday meeting, BozemanDailyChronicle.com reported.

The regents approved a utility easement to Northwestern Energy for the construction of Bozeman Fire Station 2 near the intersection of Kagy Boulevard and Seventh Avenue. Construction is slated to start in spring 2023, the report said.

The easement lets the energy company provide electrical power to the fire station instead of relying on MSU utilities, according to the report. A lease between the city and MSU for the fire station land was previously approved.

PHOTOS: Driver plows into fire truck on interstate in Connecticut

A driver crashed into a fire truck on Interstate 91 south in Windsor Locks on Wednesday morning. Public safety dispatchers confirmed to Channel 3 that a Windsor Locks Fire Department vehicle was involved in the collision just before 4 a.m. State police said the fire truck had been parked in the right and right center lanes right before exit 38.

Texas firefighter suits back up after having leg amputated from on-duty accident

VIDEO: After losing his leg while responding to an accident on I-45, Centerville volunteer firefighter Colton Adams has checked off yet another box on his road to recovery and normalcy. Adams and his fellow firefighter Clint Franklin were struck and injured by a vehicle nearly seven months ago. Adams was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Temple where he was later released and still continues rehabilitation to this day.
