More than 45,000 people are living with the physical manifestations of the September 11 attacks more than two decades after the tragedy.
At least 45,200 civilians and officers from the FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are suffering from at least one cancer or disease that has been directly linked to the largest terrorist attack in history.

VIDEO: Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes was up early on Tuesday to give back to local first responders.
Skenes traded his baseball glove for an apron and some bottles of barbecue sauce, serving up a free hot meal and some big checks to local first responders.
"The sacrifices that you make, whether you recognize it or not, are more than any of us can ever repay you for," Skenes told first responders.

VIDEO: A vacant building near Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood caught fire early Wednesday morning, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) confirmed.
Crews first responded to the building around 5:30 a.m. after callers reported heavy smoke emanating from it. Flames could be seen coming through the roof once crews arrived, and water was poured on the fire from a safe distance, an SFD spokesperson told KING 5 at the scene.

PHOTO: Fire crews are working to contain two fires in the region.
In Whitman County, Pullman fire crews and deputies attacked a wildland fire outside of Albien on Tuesday.
The fire shut down roads and caused evacuation warnings. As of Tuesday night, deputies said the fire was not threatening any towns or structures however, it did damage at least one building and several power poles which caused power outages.

Traffic cameras in Roseville captured a remarkable rescue on Monday as good Samaritans pulled a man from a burning vehicle. "It could’ve been catastrophic if we didn’t stop," Terry Maynard told FOX 9.
"I think it could’ve been a fatality for sure," Joe Wold added.
Maynard and Wold were two of three men who put their lives on the line, to save 22-year-old Paymon Sadat.
