VIDEOS: A woman was killed when her car was sandwiched between two tractor trailers and went up in flames in a horrific crash that caused delays in both directions on the Cross Bronx Expressway in the Bronx.

VIDEO: The Charlotte County Fire and EMS headquarters is about to become a hot place.
Tuesday, the county will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new $9 million Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting training facility. It’s a simulator, that looks like a normal-sized passenger jet, sitting on the county property behind the fire administration building.

Ford’s latest major recall affects nearly 522,000 of its popular Escape and Bronco Sport mid-size SUVs. The issue involves a fuel leak inside the engine compartment.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2020-23 Escapes and model-year 2021-23 Bronco Sports equipped with 1.5-liter engines. The issue is with the fuel injector, which may crack and leak; as a result, fuel or fuel vapor may accumulate near a hot surface on the engine or around exhaust components, potentially causing ignition and an underhood fire, increasing the risk of injury.

Residents served by the West Thurston Regional Fire Authority rejected tax levies that support maintenance and operations that were on the Nov. 8 ballot, leaving the district no choice but to limit services and lay off workers. According to a Nov. 23 letter from interim fire chief Rob Smith, the department ran two tax levies to support Fire Districts 1 and 11.
