Medina (NY) Fire Department to Apply for Two FEMA Grants

Medina (NY) officials are seeking two FEMA grants to upgrade the fire department’s apparatus and equipment, reports orleanshub.com.

Fire officials say the department will seek one grant to replace 31-year-old Engine 10, which does not meet NFPA standards, the report says. Replacing the apparatus would cost around $700,000 with the federal share of $666,667 and a village share of $33,333, if approved.

The department also eyes an Operations and Safety Grant to replace 25 pagers, 25 portable radios, and 10 mobile radios, which would cost $94,500—$90,000 federal share and a village contribution of $4,500, according to the report.
