Seymour (IN) Fire Department Breaks Ground on $5.75M Station 2

The Seymour (IN) Fire Department (SFD) broke ground on its $5.75 million replacement Station 2 at 1019 W. Second St.

Replacing the station, built in 1967 at 500 W. Fifth St., has been in the works for about a decade, according to tribtown.com. In 2019 the new facility received the green light.

On the heels of the new digs, SFD plans to add an assistant chief position, the report says.

The city—which paid $403,000 to Premier Ag Co-op for the site in late October—is issuing $9.9 million in bonds to pay for the construction of the new fire station and renovations to its Station 1 and City Hall, according to the report.

Superior (WI) Fire Department Debuts New $1.3M Ladder Truck

The Superior (WI) Fire Department debuted its new $1.3 million ladder truck Friday morning, reports wdio.com.

The apparatus features a 101-foot ladder with a bucket and is a vast improvement to the department’s fleet, officials say.

Dublin (GA) Approved for New Station

The City of Dublin (GA) Fire Department was recently approved for a third fire station, which will serve as department headquarters and aim to add more fire and EMS services to the community, reports wgxa.tv.

The station will be funded mostly by SPLOST dollars, the report says, and Georgia Military College will help with the design.

The new facility is currently in the beginning stages, but the city has purchased land on 441 North. Officials are hopeful the project can be completed by next year.

Waldens Ridge (TN) Emergency Services Christens New Station

Waldens Ridge (TN) Emergency Services Sunday held the dedication and open house for its new station.

The 20,000-square-foot facility boasts a community room, sleeps 16 crew members, has a decontamination room, training equipment, and many more amenities.

The station is located at 2100 Taft Highway.

“We are extremely proud of this building and can’t wait for everyone else to see what an amazing facility it is,” the department wrote on Facebook.
