Three Firefighters Injured in Gastonia (NC) Apparatus Accident

Three firefighters sustained injuries in a fire truck accident in Gastonia (NC) over the weekend, reports riccilawnc.com.

The accident took place on Saturday at 10:51 a.m. on Bud Wilson Road near Woodbeam Lane, as an apparatus was responding to a call. On Woodbridge Drive, the engine suddenly left the roadway and overturned, causing severe damage, according to the report.

First responders were dispatched to the scene, but not before three firefighters were injured. The firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment and are expected to be OK, the report says.

An investigation into the collision is underway.

Vesta (MN) Fire and Rescue Apparatus Hit

A Vesta (MN) Fire and Rescue apparatus was hit by a semi-truck Wednesday night while crews were responding to a crash on Highway 19.

The company was providing traffic control at the accident scene when the semi ran into its pickup at 6:30 p.m.

A firefighter was inside the pickup at the time of the collision, but luckily there were no major injuries. The incident is currently under investigation.

Officials say there were no injuries in the original crash to which the department was responding.

Crew at Canadian Ski Resort Turns to Snow Blower to Fight Fire

From The 4K Guy comes this video of a crew trying to contain a fire at a remote ski chalet while they wait for firefighters to arrive from a distant town.

The fire broke out on January, 25 at the Valinouet winter ski resort near St-David-de-Falardeau in Quebec. News reports said the fire most likely started in a garage.
