Pulsara Launches Powerful New Desktop Browser Command Center for Enhanced Patient Coordination

Pulsara, the leading mobile telehealth and communication platform that connects healthcare teams across organizations, announced today the launch of Pulsara HQ, a powerful new browser-based command center for enhanced patient coordination. Working alongside the company’s mobile apps, the browser application enables clinicians to easily manage patient status and details in a centralized location—creating a unified patient channel across all devices. Pre-registration, triage, team activation, and more can now be managed from one screen on a desktop web browser.

“The launch of Pulsara HQ marks an exciting new milestone in Pulsara’s journey to improve the lives of patients and caregivers,” said Erich Hannan, Pulsara’s Chief Technology Officer. “We’ve heard loud and clear from our customers that many team members need solutions that are optimized for large screens. The release of Pulsara HQ allows the right people to communicate at the right time, from the right device, providing even more powerful and streamlined communication and collaboration.”

Pulsara is a HIPAA-compliant, secure, easy-to-use telehealth and communication platform application that unites healthcare teams across departments and organizations around any patient event. Replacing archaic technologies with live video, audio, instant messaging, image sharing, and more, Pulsara unites the entire care team on one patient channel. The addition of Pulsara HQ expands the power of the platform to allow care team members to respond to incoming patient alerts and manage their caseloads in a desktop computer browser for ultimate administrative insight and convenience.

Built with hospital care teams in mind—from charge nurses to emergency physicians—HQ allows clinicians to easily manage and monitor incoming and active cases right from their desktops, providing responsive patient care for every case type. With HQ, clinicians can see new patients, view patient information, sort and filter large numbers of patients with ease, send acknowledgments to EMS and activate the care team, view alerts, begin patient registration, set door time, and much more. “Pulsara HQ will truly improve the way care teams manage patient caseloads,” shared Hannan. “Its powerful and simple interface makes communication around patient care even better.”

As part of an early-access beta launch, a number of healthcare organizations were given premier access to Pulsara HQ. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, stated the company, with care teams reporting increased productivity, coordination, and transparency. One Colorado healthcare system reported “loving the new browser application” and plans on using it for their STEMI and stroke teams to monitor caseloads while working at their desks for increased oversight and productivity. Another Missouri-based healthcare system reported similar feedback, including plans to now replace their current tracker board system with the new Pulsara HQ. The organization reported finding so much value in Pulsara that they are reaching out to local and regional partners to push the use of Pulsara for transfers, as well.

“We are incredibly proud and excited about the launch of Pulsara HQ,” said Pulsara’s Founder and CEO, Dr. James Woodson. “From the beginning, Pulsara’s purpose has been to improve the lives of patients and caregivers through innovative communication, and HQ does just that—supporting care teams towards better communication and coordination no matter where they are or what device they are using. From the rural care teams to the urban multi-facility healthcare organization to the emergency medical operations task force COVID response teams, supporting each person and team to better communicate and care for their patients is what drives us onward.”

Billings (MT) Fire Dept. Decides to Replace Wrecked Engine with New

The cost to repair collision damage to a Billings, MT, Fire Department pumper exceeds the value of the truck, so a decision to buy a replacement has been made, according to a report broadcast by KTVQ television station.

The station said a decision was made recently by the Billings City Council to buy an additional truck to replace one damaged in a rollover crash early in February.

Pierce Mfg. was selected to build the new engine with a price of $638,777, the station reported. Pierce had already been selected to build two other engines for $1.2 million.

The damaged engine was scheduled for replacement in 2024, according to the TV station, which also reported the city should have enough funds in its equipment budget by the end of the year to cover the cost of the third engine.

Oto (IA) Fire Dept. Deals With Frozen, Damaged Apparatus

A power outage, caused by a transformer failure at the Oto, IA, Volunteer Fire and Rescue building, caused temperatures to fall and froze the water in the apparatus causing significant damage, according to a report broadcast by KTIV 4 television station.

According to the television report the recent extreme cold temperatures in Siouxland combined with loss of heat caused the station and equipment in it to freeze up, rendering the department helpless when came to fighting fire, the television station reported.

Members of the Battle Creek, IA, Fire Department heard of the dilemma their brothers were in and lent a pumper to get the department back in service, according to the report.

Battle Creek firefighters had a sense of obligation and duty to help out the nearby fire department as they found themselves in a similar situation in the past, according to the report, and they where helped out by neighbors in their time of need.

Oto firefighters are exploring an insurance claim to have the damage repaired, but are not expecting a claim to cover all the costs, according to the television station. The department has set up a fundraising account through its Facebook page to help offset costs to get them back in full service.

River Falls (MN) Responds to Fatal Explosion with Brand New Pumper

A new pumper purchased by the River Falls, MN, Fire Department, had been in service less than two hours before it rolled out for its first call, a fatal house explosion, according to a report published by the e-newspaper Rivertowns.net.

The new pumper built by Pierce had just been pushed back into the station during a traditional welcoming ceremony where it was christen Engine 20, the e-paper reported.

The new Pierce engine replaced Engine 7, a 1989 Ford, as part of the department’s 30-year pumper replacement policy, according to the report.

Firefighters and officials started planning for the purchase in May 2018 and spent hundreds of hours researching the next engine that would serve the community decades into the future, according to the paper.

The firefighters had just completed their ceremony and returned home for a business meeting when the call for the explosion came in.

According to fire officers, the new truck performed at its first call as expected, the paper reported.
