Nationwide to Award 48 Fire Departments Grain Rescue Tubes, Training

In partnership with the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS), Nationwide is awarding 48 fire departments across the country life-saving grain rescue tubes and hands-on training, reports agriculture.com.

Rochester (MN) Honors Antique Fire Apparatus

A 1920 Ahren-Fox fire truck is one of the prized possessions of the Rochester Fire Department, reports KTTC.

The fire truck’s water tank pumped 750 gallons a minute. There are only a handful of people who are able to drive the 100-year old truck due to its complicated throttle and other controls.

The team has also been working to raise funds to restore the 1889 Clock and Bell Tower.

Colorado Springs (CO) Plans New Fire Stations

The Colorado Springs Fire Department is preparing to build new fire stations in the years to come, reports KKTV 11 News.

Crews could break ground on a $5 million fire station and a radio shop in the coming months next to the department’s headquarters.
