The Waukegan (IL) Fire Department, Waukegan National Airport, Waukegan Port District and Waukegan Airport tenants recently held the dedication ceremony for a new Rosenbauer Panther Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Truck (ARFF), reports DailyHerald.com.

Fire and port district officials worked together for more than a year to design the truck’s specifications, which have it at over 12 feet tall, 10 feet wide and about 40 feet long. Marion (MA) Fire Department Receives $10K Grant

The Marion (MA) Fire Department was awarded a $10,000 grant for new gear, wickedlocal.com reports, one of nearly 300 fire departments across the state to receive a grant as part of the Department of Fire Services Fiscal Year 2021 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program.

Danbury (CT) Considers Moving Firefighter Headquarters

The City Council has approved $500,000 to analyze improvements for the career and volunteer fire stations, including the 50-year-old fire headquarters, reports CT Insider.

The fire headquarters has been updated since it was built in 1971, but it may be time for a new station.

The city has studied the needs at the headquarters in the past, but would need an updated assessment. Fire officials expect the headquarters project to happen within five to 10 years.

With the growth of the career fire department over the years, the city would also explore whether the fire headquarters is big enough.

The city would need to find another property or demolish the existing building and construct a new one at that site.
