Sullivan (MO) Fire Protection District Robbed While Fighting Two-Alarm Fire

A Sullivan (MO) Fire Protection District crew that was recently working to extinguish a two-alarm apartment fire wound up having one of its pickup trucks stolen in the process, reports kansascity.com.

A Ford F-250 pickup truck used for fighting brush fires was stolen from the scene and was found hours later about a mile away. There was no immediate word on any arrests.

Officials believe the fire was contained to one building housing several apartment units. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Eaton (CO) Fire Protection District Donates Engine to Howard Volunteer Fire Department

Four members of the Eaton (CO) Fire Protection District recently drove their Freightliner 1992 Engine about 220 miles to donate it to the Howard Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD), reports canoncitydailyrecord.com.

HVFD needed improved equipment since the department is 100% dependent upon donations and most of the apparatus they utilize is aging out of service.

The donated engine will now be the primary response vehicle for HVFD.

Two AR Apparatus Collide; 6 Firefighters Injured

Two engines collided at South University Avenue and West 28th Street, near the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus, at 4:29 p.m. last Thursday, injuring six firefighters, reports arkansasonline.com.

Officials say the half-dozen firefighters were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The engines were responding to the same call on Broadmoor Drive. They met at the intersection, according to officials, but the details of the collision are still under investigation.

The information as to where the engines came from has not yet been made available for the public. However, both apparatus will be out of commission and replaced with reserve engines.

Driver Flees Scene After Crashing Through Keynsham (U.K.) Ambulance Station

A driver fled the scene after crashing through the wall of the Keynsham (U.K.) Ambulance Station on Park Road in Somerset yesterday, reports bbcnews.com. No injuries were reported.

The crash created a gaping hole in the station’s wall, which a Hicks Gate Fire Station crew was called to repair. A wooden structure was put in place for support.

Police are still searching for the driver.
