The city of Belpre is taking another step to reduce their carbon footprint. City Council approved the addition of solar panels atop Fire Station One. The city will enter into a contract with Pickering Associates for the design, installation and periodic maintenance for the array Belpre Mayor Mike Lorentz said the projections are to offset the energy needs of the station and to return a bit more to the grid.

Members of Gainesville Fire-Rescue participated in a brief pushing-in ceremony at the Steven K. Fleming Public Safety Center, 201 Santa Fe St., to keep up with a longstanding tradition.

On Friday, a distracted driver hit the back of one a Nueces County fire truck causing heavy damage and in the same week a thief began stealing fuel tanks off two of their other trucks in Bishop.

The West Allis Fire Department is looking to buy back something it owned years and years ago. The 1930 Peter Pirsch & Sons fire pumper truck used to be owned by the department but has been in the hands of private collectors since it was decommissioned in 1972.
