Fire-Dex Promotes Denise Bradley to Product Engineer

Denise Bradley

Fire-Dex announced today the promotion of Denise Bradley to Product Engineer, effective January 1, 2018.

Denise joined Fire-Dex in November, 2004 and was in charge of all purchasing and inventory activities. In December of 2013, she was promoted to Quality Compliance Coordinator. In her new role, Denise will be joining the Product Development team reporting to Todd Herring.

"Over the last 13 years, Denise has excelled in many aspects of the Fire-Dex business, including developmental testing, raw material improvements, Quality Management Systems, manufacturing processes, and NFPA compliance for the full Fire-Dex product line," says Todd Herring, Director of Marketing. "The combination of her vast knowledge, project management skills and extraordinary attention to detail will add significant horsepower to our product development team."

This newly created position is part of the strategic growth plan for the company in 2018 and beyond. Fire-Dex has high expectations for the product development team and will continue to focus on innovative solutions for firefighter health and safety, especially as it relates to carcinogen exposure and heat stress.

Donations Help Houston Fire Department Expand Rescue Fleet Months After Harvey

The donations come as the department waits for bond money that voters approved, which won't be available until next year.

The latest boost came Thursday night, when City Councilmember Brenda Stardig and the Firefighters Foundation of Houston presented the department with a $52,000 check -- enough for two additional swiftwater rescue boats.

"I hope my colleagues join with us to add more boats around the city," said Stardig, who represents District A and chairs the council's Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security. She announced the donations at her district's give-back holiday party, which was held at a local brewery and attended by hundreds of constituents and first-responders.

Fire Chief Brian Helmick said in a press release that the agreement sets out the minimum requirements, size and features of the new station and engine, but the city and district plan to work cooperatively on more specific and detailed plans and timelines.
