The Kentucky Division of Forestry (KDF) has dispatched a dozen firefighters to assist the state of Oklahoma, where fires have burned nearly 900,000 acres in the northwest part of Oklahoma. A firefighter suffered a minor injury when a driver lost control of a car on North Street this morning and slid into a Tewksbury fire truck, according to Tewksbury Fire Chief Michael Hazel. The firefighter driving the fire truck saw the car coming and reduced the speed of the fire engine to almost a stop, he said.
