D.C. Fire & EMS Ambulance Carjacked as EMTs Treat Patient

A gunman carjacked a D.C. Fire & EMS Ambulance Saturday morning as EMS workers treated a patient in the vehicle, reports WUSA9.

The incident happened at 9 a.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. and Chicago Street, Southeast. The ambulance had responded to a report of an injured person at that location. As EMS personnel treated the patient in the back of the ambulance, the armed carjacker showed them his gun and threatened them, the report says.

The D.C. Fire & EMS personnel and the others exited the ambulance without further harm, and the carjacker drove away in the emergency apparatus.

The ambulance was later recovered. There is a $10,000 reward for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the attacker.
