Retired Florida firefighter, 56, back on the job after 29 years of service

VIDEO: Dante Farina retired from the Orlando Fire Department in 2019 after 29 years of service. Now, he is back at new recruit training with the Seminole County Fire Department. His spark rekindled after Farina was asked a simple question by a firefighter at another department. "He asked me if I miss the fire service and I said every day.

California firefighters smash cars for fun and charity

VIDEO: Hayward firefighters caused a multi-car pileup on Saturday but it was no accident and it was all for a good cause. It all went down at the Good Guys car show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds during a benefit fundraiser with a twist -- and a grind and a crunch. They rumbled and rattled in from all over the Bay Area -- die-hard, first-responders braving this demolition derby competition, seeking the thrill of victory and, with luck, the coveted trophy which was basically a welded-together pile of car parts.

Southern Rhode Island firefighters provide training to colleagues from Greece

PHOTOS: While watching a female lieutenant with Charlestown Ambulance Rescue Service perform a demonstration using a saw outside the Watch Hill Fire Department last Thursday, a smile came across the face of a suddenly excited volunteer with the Union of Hellenic Fire Service Volunteers. The native of Greece, one of 16 who traveled to Rhode Island recentely as part of a comprehensive training partnership, wouldn’t have had the hands-on opportunity back home and reveled in the opportunity to lead the physically challenging response.

New York City Council holding hearing on e-bikes and fire safety

Amazon employees forced to evacuate after fire breaks out at Spokane Valley fulfillment center

Employees at the Amazon fulfillment center in Spokane Valley evacuated Sunday after a small fire broke out. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. According to Spokane Valley Fire officials, a fire broke out in machinery that grinds used cardboard for recycling. The machine was attached to a large dumpster outside.
