VIDEO: 1 killed in Hawaii building fire

One person was killed in an early morning building fire in the McCully area Sunday morning, according to HFD. Crews responded to a two-story walk-up just after 5 a.m. located along Date Street. Nearly 40 HFD personnel from 10 units arrived to find the structure with heavy flames on the first floor reaching to the second.

Texas firefighter survives tornado hit on fire station unscathed

PHOTO: It could take well into this week to clear all the downed trees and debris in one East Texas city, slammed by tornadoes this past Friday night. Longtime residents say nothing like this had ever happened in the small community of Hughes Springs, and they are still trying to process the scope of what hit them.

FDNY’s ‘last resort’ rope rescue saves victim during Manhattan fire that injured 38 people

VIDEO: On Saturday, as a fire tore through a Manhattan building, FDNY firefighters made a daring life-saving, last-resort rope rescue. About 24 hours after saving numerous victims impacted by the blaze at 429 East 52nd St., the city Fire Department, via Facebook, explained how their “herculean team effort” proved successful.

Fire Department in Florida loses fire truck & ambulance to Hurricane Ian, firehouse condemned

VIDEO: Hurricane Ian caused millions of dollars in damage to the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department’s emergency vehicles and buildings, both on and off the island. In total, one fire truck, one ambulance and an alternative response vehicle were destroyed when Hurricane Ian’s storm surge busted into a firehouse that is now condemned.

EMS in Louisiana uses unique lifesaving technique for 100th time

VIDEO: The New Orleans EMS administered blood to a woman shot on Bourbon Street Sunday morning while she was still in the street. They say this is a rare ability for EMS services across the country and saves lives. Thomas Mauro was the paramedic who gave her the blood using a Lifeflow device. He was able to get blood into the victim in just 10 minutes as opposed to the normal 40 or so minutes it can take to get victims' blood in a hospital.
