Subaru’s latest recall affects nearly every one of its family-hauling Ascent SUV. The issue stems from the electrical system and could lead to a fire. Included in the population are model-year 2019-22 Ascents. The ground bolt that secures the ground terminal of the positive temperature coefficient heater in the wiring under the dashboard may have been improperly fastened, which could result in melting of the ground terminal and surrounding components, increasing the risk of a fire.

A person was found dead inside of a burned semi-truck in Everett Tuesday evening. Witnesses saw the truck on fire and called it in to police around 5 p.m. When Everett Police Department and Everett Fire Department arrived, the truck was fully engulfed in flames and the dead person inside the truck had not been found yet.

Fire officials suspect someone intentionally set fire to a pile of railroad ties Monday evening just north of downtown Wenatchee. Wenatchee firefighters responded to the fire about 6:40 p.m. after several people reported seeing the flames. The fire was near the Riverside Playhouse in the 200 block of North Wenatchee Avenue.
