Runaway Fire Truck in San Francisco Damages Cars, Trees and Signs

A runaway fire truck caused significant damage to cars, trees and signs in San Francisco’s Noe Valley] neighborhood, according to a report published by San Francisco Chronicle.

According to the report, the air brake on a  fire truck became dislodged and rolled away from the fire station at Hoffman and Alvarado streets during a morning check. The truck rolled a half a block damaging six cars which then damaged street signs and trees. No injuries were reported.

Spokane crews respond to house fire near Franklin Park

Crews from the Spokane Fire Department put out a house fire burning near Franklin Park. The fire was burning off North Howard Street and West Wabash Avenue inside the garage of a home on Saturday. When arriving to the home, firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the home. Crews confirmed with the homeowner that no one was inside the garage.

Plans to Replace Cayce (KY) Fire Station Destroyed by Tornado Going Slowly

Fulton County (KY) officials are seeking funds to replace the Cayce fire station that was destroyed by a tornado in December, according to a report published by the West Kentucky Star.

According to the report, an EF-4 tornado destroyed the fire station and all of the department’s equipment and finding the funds to replace everything has been a slow process.

The Cayce Fire Department is seeking to replace the station at the original site and add a community center and polling place, according to the report which did not indicate a timeline for the project.

Sequim house fire confined to one room

Fire District 3 extinguished a blaze in a multi-storied house in Sequim on Friday night. All eight occupants of the house on Oak Court left it safely before firefighters arrived, said Fire Chief Ben Andrews in a press release. Firefighters were dispatched at 7:28 p.m. for the fire in an upstairs bedroom.

Port Angeles has a new Fire Chief

The City of Port Angeles announced Thursday the promotion of Assistant Chief Derrell Sharp to Chief of the Port Angeles Fire Department. He will assume this new role immediately, following the retirement of Chief Ken Dubuc earlier this year. Chief Sharp is a 30-year veteran of the fire service, with extensive training and experience in all aspects of Fire Department Operations, Emergency Medical Services, Health and Safety, and Training Program Management.
