Seattle police and firefighters responded to the scene of a house fire in the city’s Montlake neighborhood Wednesday morning. The Seattle Fire Department tweeted just after 9:30 a.m. that crews responded to the 2200 block of 25th Avenue East for a report of a fire in the basement of the residence. The department tweeted there was an ongoing “scene of violence” response at the location.

A house fire near Whatcom Falls Park prompted nearby work crews to take quick action. The Bellingham Fire Department said that the fire was reported around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th, in the 2700 block of Alvarado Drive. Nearby HVAC service workers were able to free a dog from inside the home before fire crews arrived.

Clallam County Fire Marshal George Bailey took the next step in the county burn ban Tuesday and modified it to restrict all fires, including in campgrounds within unincorporated Clallam County. The modification prohibits all outdoor burning, including campfires, bonfires, briquette BBQ’s, residential yard debris, trash disposal, land clearing, weed abatement and agricultural burning.

An Osage County volunteer fire department is raising money to finish a new fire station, 6/KOTV reported.

On Monday night, police in Vancouver responded to reports of arson at the home of the city’s mayor. According to the Vancouver Police Department, officers were called out at about 9:40 p.m. to the home of Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle and her husband, Terry Ogle, in the 3500 block of F Street. Terry Ogle reportedly confronted the suspect who was trying to start a fire near the home’s garage while the mayor was gone at a city council meeting at the time.
