Yakima man is giving back to firefighters as they fight against blistering heat

VIDEO: Larry Broderson whose born and raised in the Valley has devoted most of his life to giving back to the community and this year is no different. He's planning on personally delivering 92 cases of water and hundreds of dollars worth of snacks to the Nile-Cliffdell Fire Department. Today he tells me, this makes his life worth living.

Wheat Field Fire Extinguished in Walla Walla County

According to the Walla Walla County Sheriffs Office a wheat field caught fire Friday afternoon just North of Walla Walla Washington near Valley Grove Road. The fire department and law enforcement were quickly on the scene working to contain the fire and warning people to avoid the area. The fire looked to be spreading across the wheat and stubble fields towards the Eritage Resort however firefighters were able to stop the blaze before it reached the business.

Spokane Valley Firefighter will not recover from cardiac arrest

VIDEO: Spokane Valley Fire Chief Frank Soto released a statement on Sunday announcing that Firefighter Dan Patterson will not recover from cardiac arrest. Patterson suffered cardiac arrest after working a 24-hour shift on July 21. When Patterson left his station to go for a run, he called his wife to tell her he was not feeling well and returned to Station 2.
