A severe storm left a path of destruction in La Plata early Friday morning, including damage to the fire station.

The La Plata Fire Station had multiple garage doors blown in and some apparatus windshields were smashed, reports KTVO. An equipment storage pole barn was leveled; it was strewn across a nearby field, as well as across Highway 63, the report says. In addition, a couple of city buildings and some residences were damaged.

An electric company official says about 500 customers lost power.

The storm passed through northeast MO—where the damage was mainly limited to—around 3 a.m. and carried winds stronger than 60 mph.

The good news is that no injuries were reported.

The Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association and the International Fire Buff Associates (IFBA) invite you to Woburn for the Summer 2022 convention. This event will be the first of its kind and will be a joint convention between the So­ciety for the Preservation and Appreciation of An­tique Motorized Fire Ap­paratus in America (SPAAMFAA) and IFBA, the latter’s website reads.

There is a full selection of tours and seminars that will interest both antique apparatus enthusiasts and fire buffs alike. On Saturday there will be a fire apparatus show that features a parade, vendors, and a hand-tub muster.

Apparatus trophies will be awarded for a variety of categories. Saturday night will feature a cocktail hour and joint banquet at the host hotel.

A Belgian firefighter was killed late Friday as the FDNY fireboat he was riding on was hit by another vessel, reports the Daily News. His identity has not yet been released.

Marine 1 Bravo was operating in the East River around 10 p.m. Friday when a charter boat collided with it, the report says. The visiting firefighter was seriously injured and later died at Bellevue Hospital.

Three civilians and an FDNY crew member were also rushed to Bellevue with non-life-threatening injuries, officials say. The 33-foot Marine 1 Bravo was damaged and taken out of service. It isn’t clear why the Belgian was onboard or who authorized the ride.

Fire officials and the U.S. Coast Guard are investigating.

A vehicle driven by an alleged drunk driver collided with Modesto Fire Department Engine 11 late Friday, reports The Modesto Bee.

Minor damage and no injuries were reported, and Lisa Marie Sanchez was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, officials say.

Officials add that the engine had its lights and sirens activated and was headed south on Tully Road when it slowed to make a left onto Palmilla Drive.

Sanchez was headed north on Tully and didn’t have her headlights on. The head-on collision was reported at 11:59 p.m., the report says.

Details of Sanchez’ age, city of residence, and vehicle were not available.

The Roswell Fire Department has invited you to help celebrate its new Truck 21!

The push-in ceremony will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at Station 21, located at 1002 Alpharetta St. It’ll see Truck 21 be placed into service.

“Bring your family and friends to this ceremonial event as we push the new Truck 21 into the station and place it in service,” a Facebook event reads. “Immediately following the ceremony, spectators are encouraged to tour the historic Station 21 and it’s museum, visit with the firefighters, and check out all the trucks that are housed inside! Parking for the event will be at the lot adjacent to Station 21 and at Roswell City Hall.”

Following the ceremony, guests are welcome to tour the station and its museum, visit with crew members, and see up close the entire fleet during an open house.
