500 motorcycles honor Ohio’s fallen firefighters in Cleveland

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Hundreds of motorcycle riders gathered in downtown Cleveland on Sunday to honor Ohio’s fallen firefighters who died in 2021. The 18th Annual Firefighters Memorial Ride started with a ceremony at the Cleveland Firefighters Memorial in front of the Cleveland Science Center at 10:30 a.m. Following the ceremony, the processional ride began from downtown Cleveland at the Firefighters Memorial and traveled through the following communities: Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, Mayfield Heights, Willoughby, Mayfield Village, Eastlake and ending at Western Reserve Harley-Davidson in Mentor with food and entertainment.

165 killed in Kentucky supper club fire remembered on 45th anniversary of Tri-State tragedy

May 28, 1977 is a date that may never be forgotten in the Tri-State. 165 people were killed and hundreds more were hurt in a fire at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky on that date. The famed club near Cincinnati, which was known for entertainment, was hosting a huge crowd that night.

Crews knock down building fire in Bellevue, homeowners make it out safely

Fire crews knocked down a fire at a townhome in the Highlands neighborhood Tuesday morning. According to the Bellevue Fire Department (BFD), at around 9:00 a.m., crews responded to reports of a fire at a building near the corner of 140th Ave NE and NE 12th St. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the garage, but were able to knock it down quickly.

Mike Lopez started his EMS career in the Inland Northwest at 19; He retired this month after nearly 50 years

Mike Lopez’s passion for health care started when he was a child tagging along with his father, an anesthetist who worked at various practices around Spokane Valley. “I always had this interest in health care by virtue of his involvement,” Lopez said. “I was always hanging out in the emergency department and just kind of followed him around.

Two families displaced by Kent apartment fire

Two families lost their homes after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Kent early Sunday, according to the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority. Fire crews responded to the apartments located in the 10800 block of Southeast 240th Street around 1 a.m. Firefighters knocked down the flames in under 30 minutes before working to conduct salvage and overhaul operations at the scene.
