Thick columns of smoke could be seen for miles Sunday morning as firefighters battled big flames at a warehouse in Southeast Seattle.
The blaze broke out shortly after 5 a.m. near the corner of South Grand Street and 22nd Avenue.
The manufacturing warehouse is located just a block or two from the Coleman Playground near Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood.

A brush fire that crested Selah Ridge and spread north and south as it moved up the hillside began early Sunday afternoon at a homeless camp north of Harlan Landing before growing to more than 400 acres, authorities said.
Though no homes had been evacuated Sunday evening, firefighters were concerned about the threat to homes near Lookout Point.

A mother is in a burn unit at Harborview Medical Center and her two children are presumed dead after flames ripped through her Mount Vernon home early Saturday morning.
Neighbors say her two children, a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, weren't able to escape the flames.
Records show two people have been arrested for investigation of murder and arson in Skagit County, but it's unclear whether those arrests are related to this fire.

A state Type 3 Fire Management team this morning assumed coordination of firefighting efforts on the Canyon Creek Fire, located near Carlton in the Methow Valley. A new estimate of size and containment will be issued later today.
The Type 3 team took over at around 6 am. Sunday and ordered additional resources to battle the blaze, which has officially scorched 300-plus acres.

Two wildfires are burning in the Selah area.
Multiple efforts are working to control a 500-acre brush fire at Wenas Lake as of Friday, 2:29 a.m. according to the Central Washington Interagency Communications Center.
A second fire, known as the "Cottonwood" grass fire has burned 25 acres since 7:20 a.
