Veteran OR Firefighter’s Truck, Gear Stolen

An Oregon firefighter’s vehicle was stolen when he returned home Wednesday from a month-long deployment in New Mexico. And with it went $7,000 to $8,000 worth of gear that he uses on the job, KPTV reports.

Jason Starkey discovered the theft when he went to unload the van first thing in the morning at his home in Portland. The 19-year veteran firefighter reported the gear missing to Portland police, but he’s not optimistic about getting it back.

“It’s hard to have a big heart when people take when you already don’t have much,” he told KPTV.

Arkansas road crews clean up after fiery crash, Interstate reopens

VIDEO: Arkansas Department of Transportation crews took over 24 hours to clear all lanes along I-30 westbound after a fiery, fatal, multi-vehicle crash happened on Wednesday. There were 20 vehicles involved in the accident, which also included eight semi trucks. The accident happened near mile marker 86 along I-30 westbound and it resulted in three fatalities.
