41 Out After 42: Fowlerville (MI) Area Fire Department Replacing Station

The Fowlerville Area Fire Department recently broke ground on its new Station 41, which replaces a cramped and outdated 42-year-old facility.

The new facility will sit on a nearly 5-acre parcel and be a total of 17,961 square feet, including five drive-through bays, offices, crew quarters and kitchen with a dayroom, and a training room for 48 people, officials say.

“We Broke Ground Today For The “NEW” Fowlerville Area Fire Department “41” – Central Station!! You’ll Be Seeing Work Going On And A Station Coming Together At The Corner Of Grand River Ave. & N. Gregory Rd. SOON!” a Facebook post reads.

If there are no setbacks, officials anticipate a ribbon cutting next spring.

Fargo (ND) Approves $8.1M Bond Sale to Finance New Station

Fargo city officials recently approved the sale of $8.1 million bonds to finance Fire Station 8 and equip it with apparatus and relevant tools, reports gowatertown.net.

The city worked to acquire a private placement bond sale, which returned a lower interest rate on the sale of $8.1 million bonds to pay for the project, the report says.

The city last week received architectural bids for the station—which will be located on city-owned property on a to-be-determined location on 64th Avenue South—and now has the funds to get it built.

See Winston-Salem (NC) Fire Department Break Ground on $4.3M Station 3

The Winston-Salem Fire Department recently broke ground on its replacement Station 3, which is expected to cost $4.36 million, including $3.6 million in general obligation bonds voters approved in November 2018.

Station 3, located on Liberty Street, replaces a facility built in 1964.

It’s expected to be completed in late 2023.

See Hayti (MO) Fire Department’s New Tanker

The Hayti Fire Department recently took delivery of its new custom-built Freightliner tanker.

It replaces an apparatus built in the 1970s, though that had been refurbished a couple of times.

“We have been short a tanker for a few months and have really anticipated the arrival of the new apparatus,” the department writes on Facebook.
