Photos: LAFD Gets Rosenbauer Electric Fire Apparatus

Fire photographer Rick McClure shared some photos of the arrival of the City of Los Angeles (CA) Fire Department’s first electric fire apparatus.

The rig from Rosenbauer will soon enter service at LAFD Station 82 in Hollywood, and LAFD members participated in a traditional push-in ceremony for the fire truck earlier this month.

Thief Takes Plano’s (TX) New Fire Truck on Joyride to Dallas

A Texas man led police on a search over the weekend when he drove off with a Plano fire truck and wound up in Dallas where he was arrested.

The stolen truck had not even been put into service yet when it was taken, news reports said. It was at a Balch Springs company that was finishing the vehicle for delivery when a man showed up at the business applying for work. The man then got into the truck and drove it away at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Dallas police say Jose Mora took the truck 15 miles to Dallas where they apprehended him. He’s been charged with theft of goods valued in excess of $300,000. The truck, meanwhile, was placed in the care of Dallas Fire-Rescue until it could be retrieved, WFAA reported.

Semi and Fire Truck in Marshall Township (PA) Crash Responding to Call

A Marshall Township fire truck and an 18-wheeler were involved in an accident Sunday as the truck was on the way to a call.

The accident occurred on Brush Creek Road, WPXI reported, while the fire department was responding to a car fire.

The truck left the roadway, travelled down an embankment and crashed in a field. There were no serious injuries in the crash.

Panama City Beach (FL) Holds Push-in Ceremony for New Engine

A push-in ceremony marked the delivery of a new engine for Panama City Beach (FL) Fire Rescue on Friday morning, according to a report published by WMBB.

According to the report, the new engine has anti-collision technology, airbags in the cab a GPS-based system that alerts to the status of the apparatus, regarding in service, responding and other functions.

The new apparatus will be the third front-line engine for the department along side an aerial.

According to the department’s Facebook page, firefighters were appreciative of the new Engine 30.

“The Firefighters, Officers, and Administrative Staff would like to say thank you to our City Managers and City Council for their progressive forward thinking and never ending support,” a post on the Facebook page read.

Holmdel (NJ) Firefighters Celebrate New Station and Engine

Firefighters with the Holmdel (NJ) Fire & Rescue Company No. 2 recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new station and a push-in for a new apparatus for the new facility, according to a report published by the web site Tapinto.

The web site reported the new $4.2 million station was completed just in time for International Firefighter Day and features a bright red exterior and drive-thru capabilities.

Shortly after the building dedication celebrations, the department hosted a traditional wet-down and push-in for a new 2021 Pierce Enforcer engine, according to the report.
