Wexford (PA) Volunteer Fire Company Orders New Rescue Truck

The Wexford Volunteer Fire Company signed a contract for a new rescue truck with Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC and their local sales rep, Flashover Fire Apparatus and Equipment Company.

The new truck has a 560-day build time and delivery is expected for late 2023. This truck will replace our current rescue, which was purchased in 1994.

The Rescue is the backbone of our fleet. It responds to all motor vehicle accidents and other rescue situations. It also responds as a support vehicle to structure fires and other emergencies. The new rescue will give us additional rescue capabilities such as water emergencies, and structural collapse. It will carry a full complement of ground ladders and structural firefighting equipment in addition to the rescue equipment.

We would like to thank the Township of Pine for their financial support of this project.

Vancouver Fire Marshal: Calls to homeless camps are increasing

Vancouver fire crews have responded to a rash of calls at the former Joe’s Crab Shack along the Columbia River — but most of the recent fires are actually coming from an old tunnel under the nearby pier. Officials say the structure poses safety risks to those accessing it, including firefighters. Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli said transient fires are tying up more of the city’s fire resources and can be particularly challenging to fight.
