Caldwell (ID) Replaces 31-Year-Old Ladder Truck

The City of Caldwell has purchased a new fire truck to replace its 31-year-old ladder, which, FA reported last week, is being sold to the intrastate Payette Fire Department.

KTVB reports that the 1991 ladder was not meeting department demands, and it was replaced with a 2021 Pierce ladder.

The new apparatus allows for more storage and space. Crews have been training on it.

Ambulance Catches Fire at Klecknersville (PA) Firehouse

On the heels of a fire that damaged its station and an ambulance, the Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company (KRVFC) has started a GoFundMe to raise funds to replace the lost equipment.

“On Friday, April 29, 2022, an ambulance caught fire in one of the bays of the Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company firehouse. Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but of course there was costly damage to the rig and station.

“KRVFC has answered so many of our calls at all hours of the night, in all sorts of weather, at the times we all needed it most. If you’re able to answer their call now, they could use some financial support in offsetting (or hopefully completely covering!) the costs of their insurance deductibles and any expenses that will ultimately not be covered by insurance.

“At this moment, this fundraising goal of $2,500 is an estimate—the Rangers don’t yet know the exact cost of the losses or how the insurance numbers will work out. However, they minimally have a $1,000 deductible on the building alone. If we find that the costs will be higher, we will update and increase the fundraising goal here. If instead, donations from this campaign end up exceeding KRVFC’s expenses, the “extra” contributions will simply be considered as any other donation to their organization would.

“If every person in Moore & Chapman donated even $1, we would raise more than three times this fundraising goal! With that said, we know times are tough right now—please donate whatever you can if you feel called to do so.

“**Checks can also be mailed directly to the firehouse at 2718 Mountain View Dr, Bath, PA 18014**

“If you’re a local business owner would who consider posting the attached flyer, please feel free to do so. You can also contact me if you’d like me to print some and deliver to you, or if you’d like me to send you a PDF file!”
