A 25-year-old Warren County volunteer firefighter was found guilty of improper driving after he crashed a fire truck into another vehicle on November 11, reports nvdaily.com.

Conor Wright, of Front Royal Volunteer Fire and Rescue, entered a plea deal in the Strasburg Road crash, and his charge was reduced from the class 1 misdemeanor of reckless driving, the report says.

Also, Wright was issued a $500 fine with $100 suspended, and he must stay out of trouble for a year and pay $74 in court costs. He faced up to 12 months in jail and a fine of upward of $2,500 as well as court fees, according to the report.

The incident happened as Wright was driving a fire truck east on Strasburg Road with two colleagues on their way home from a call, according to the report. The apparatus swerved to avoid rear-ending a vehicle and then collided with a westbound 2013 Toyota Tacoma.

Trumann (AR) Rebuilds Station After Tornado

Months after a December tornado twister tore apart the Trumann fire station, the department is working to rebuild.

But the long-term rebuild is taking longer. As the plans come together for a $3.5 million fire station, the department is operating from trailers and a storage building.

Not Born to Run: Springsteen Museum Won’t Displace Freehold (NJ) Firefighters

Freehold borough volunteer firefighters will surely be dancing in the dark after rumors that they’ll be relocated to make way for a planned Bruce Springsteen museum proved to be untrue, reports app.com.

Borough officials say that the department will not be moved—its 49 W. Main St. station has served as the borough hall, the police station, and department headquarters since 1919—until it has a new home.

The facility has become cramped and outdated, according to the report, and, to preserve its historic nature, the borough last year reached out to the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University to create a museum for The Boss.

Tentative plans call for the new fire station to be built in the same area as its predecessor, and officials say they hope to break ground in early 2023 and finished the same year. Museum officials estimate the Springsteen museum will open in mid-2024.
