Thirty-three years after two Orange County firefighters died while responding to a building fire, Orange County Fire Rescue Department continues to honor their contributions to the fire service.
Engineer Todd Aldridge and Firefighter Mark Benge paid the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a building fire near Lake Buena Vista on February 24, 1989.

VIDEO: A one-of-a-kind restoration project is finally complete. The Canton Volunteer Fire Department spent more than 25 years bringing one of its trucks back to life.
A piece of history has made its way home.
“History’s good for some things (laugh). It’s nice to let everybody reminisce how things were and how things have changed,” Canton Fire Chief Nate Laubach said.

Firefighters from the Seattle Fire Department were called Thursday to extinguish blazes at two different homeless encampments, including one located right outside City Hall.
The first blaze occurred around 1 a.m. near 6th Ave. and James Street underneath Interstate 5 and near the James Street off-ramp.

Several people were displaced Friday morning after an apartment fire in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood.
At about 4:30 a.m., crews responded to reports of heavy smoke coming from a two-story apartment building in the 3600 block of Woodland Park Avenue North. When crews arrived, visible flames and heavy smoke was seen from the front side of the building’s first and second floor.
