194,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid SUVs recalled over fire risk

Stellantis said Monday it is recalling 194,000 plug-in hybrid electric Jeep SUVs to address fire risks after 13 fires were reported, and it told owners to park outside and away from other vehicles until recall repairs are completed. The Italian-American automaker is recalling some 2020 through 2024 model year Jeep Wrangler and 2022 through 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids.

Two people injured in Spokane Valley house fire

Two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in a house fire Tuesday morning in Spokane Valley. Fire crews were on the scene around 2 am on East 10th, between Carnahan and Park Road. Firefighters on the scene said the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, but they didn't have an exact cause Tuesday morning.

Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Crashing Into Sacramento (CA) Fire Apparatus, Police Say

Sacramento police arrested a man Friday night after he crashed into a Sacramento Fire Department fire engine, authorities said.

The man hit the fire truck around 7 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Pell Drive and Main Avenue, which connects to Del Paso Road in North Sacramento’s Pell/Main Industrial Park neighborhood.

According to police, neither the driver nor any members of the Fire Department were injured in the crash. The driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
