1 person killed in Everett motorhome fire

One person died after a motorhome caught fire early Monday morning in north Everett. Dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting the fire just after 1:00 a.m. Callers said there may be a person trapped inside. When crews arrived, flames were shooting out of the motorhome which was parked in an alley near 35th St.

House fire kills Chief Sealth International High School educator/coach

The Chief Sealth International High School community is mourning an educator who also served as the school’s tennis coach. 37-year-old Steadman Mathis died after an early-morning fire at his home in White Center on Sunday. Firefighters responded to the house in the 400 block of SW 108th [map] around 3:45 am on Sunday (March 6th).

Highway sign collapses on I-5 in Lakewood after crash

VIDEO: All southbound lanes on I-5 in Lakewood have reopened Tuesday morning after a car crashed into an overhead highway sign, causing it to collapse. The crash happened at about midnight near Gravelly Lake Drive Southwest. Traffic was diverted off Bridgeport Way. Crews were able to remove the structure off the highway and lanes reopened before 6 a.

Hindman (KY) Volunteer Fire Department Receives $10k Grant for PPE

The Hindman Volunteer Fire Department received a $10,000 grant from the Fire Commission which will go toward the purchase of new personal protective equipment.

The plan is to purchase new boots, turnout pants, coats, Nomex hoods, helmets, and gloves, reports wkyt.com.

Officials say a set of gear runs about $1,600 to $2,000, depending upon brand. Then, add it up for every member in the department and it gets expensive. More than 230 fire departments also received the grant, the report says.
