Small Fire at Toledo (OH) Fire & Rescue Department’s Station 18

The Toledo (OH) Fire & Rescue Department is investigating a small fire in a utility storage room at the back of its Station 18 early Wednesday morning, reports wtol.com.

Crews at the facility, located on Lewis Avenue, were able to quickly extinguish flames in the room, which houses communication equipment and electrical components, according to the report.

As of now, firefighters cannot occupy the station due to smoke damage affecting the locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, and dorm. Officials note that, despite this, crews will remain in service at other stations, and the district will continue to be protected.

The fire appears to have been accidental, but authorities are still investigating.
