Officials with the Sonoma Valley (CA) Fire District are picking up two new engines this week from Forest Lake (MN).

The two Rosenbauer apparatus are seeing their final inspections before they’re delivered.

The two Warrior series apparatus will replace Engines 3383 and 3385, and will serve the communities of Agua Caliente, Boyes Hot Springs, and Glen Ellen.

The Burnsville (MN) Fire Department recently christened its new, state-of-the-art Station 1.

Officials say the facility will serve Burnsville for decades.

The project began around 2014-2015, following a facilities study that showed Station 1 was at end of its useful life. Officials say any money invested in it wouldn’t be worth it.

Then, three years ago, it was designed. And now it’s ready to serve at 14275 Newton Ave.

Support 7, which assists first responders in caring for a victim’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs at times of significant incidents of trauma, has published its 2022 South Snohomish County First Responder Calendar. The second annual calendar, which is being sold as a fundraiser for the organization, can be ordered online at a cost of $25.

In an effort to combat staff shortages and improve response times, the Baraboo (WI) Fire Department and EMS hope to consolidate, reports nbc15.com.

Officials say a merger would make training a dual purpose—leading to more qualified first responders and thus a faster response time.

City officials say the consolidation wouldn’t increase taxes, though final plans are a ways away.

The report notes that, in addition, a new station is needed, and, with a merger, perhaps the new facility wouldn’t need separate areas for fire and EMS. The current digs doesn’t meet space or functionality needs.

The aim is to get community feedback this year, begin construction in 2023, and complete the project in 2024.
