Fire-Rescue In North Carolina Improves Response Times With New Tech

Mooresville Fire-Rescue has new technology to help them arrive at a 911 call faster, when seconds count most. The new tech is called AVL (Auto Vehicle Locator) and it works in conjunction with CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) to ensure the closest firefighters and EMT's get to the call quickly. Mooresville already averages a fire truck arriving at a call within five minutes, 85 percent of the time, but AVL will help improve that number.

Omicron hasn’t peaked in U.S., surgeon general says, warning that ‘next few weeks will be tough’

Friends and family pay respects to longtime Clark County firefighter

VIDEO: Colleagues, friends and family paid respects to Clark County Fire District 6 firefighter Joe Killian, who passed away earlier this month at age 56 following a battle with cancer. Killian worked as a firefighter and paramedic for more than 25 years. According to friends, he had a larger than life spirit that could easily make your worries go away.

Clallam County Fire District 3 seeks architects for new fire stations

Design work on two fire stations could begin in the coming months for Clallam County Fire District 3. On Jan. 4, the district’s fire commissioners agreed to seek Statements of Qualifications from architects to design new structures for Station 31 (Dungeness) and Station 33 (Carlsborg). “We’re looking to get an architect under contract,” assistant fire chief Dan Orr said at the fire commissioner’s meeting earlier this month.
