"Every fire will change the lives of the people, who they are related to, people that knew them," said Luann Zambanini with the Boyertown Area Historical Society. On Sunday, the Boyertown Area Historical Society commemorated a fatal fire that happened at the Rhoads Opera House in 1908.

A firefighter was hurt Tuesday morning while battling a fire at an abandoned duplex on Kirkland Avenue in the Renton Highlands. Smoke was pouring from one of the units in the duplex when firefighters arrived. Renton Regional Fire Authority officials said there had been reports that homeless people had been living there.

Two people were severely burned in a propane explosion Monday afternoon. Spokane firefighters responded to a tent near North Waterworks Street and East Surro Avenue around 3 p.m. Monday for reports of injured people. Two victims were quickly taken to the hospital because of the severity of their injuries.

Two vehicles caught fire in a garage blaze that damaged an east Vancouver home Monday morning. The fire, in the 15400 Block of 15th Street, was reported about 8:30 a.m., according to the Vancouver Fire Department. When fire crews arrived at the single-story home in the Country-Side Woods neighborhood, they saw smoke and flames coming from the garage.
