Highland Park (MI) Fire Apparatus Involved in Fatal Crash

One person died Saturday night after crashing into a parked fire apparatus in Highland Park (MI), reports clickondetroit.com.

Around 11:15 p.m., a Ford Explorer was traveling west on Davison Freeway when the driver lost control and crashed into the rear of a fire truck parked near Oakland Avenue, the report says. The 57-year-old driver had to be extricated by first responders and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two Highland Park apparatus were parked and blocking part of Davison Freeway West while assisting two vehicles.

A passenger in the Explorer was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to the report.

Live Stream: City of Madison (WI) Fire Department Dedicates Medic 14

The City of Madison (WI) Fire Department on Sunday put in service Medic 14, its new ambulance.

The city’s ninth ambulance, Medic 14 is housed at Station 14 on Dairy Drive. Officials say it will increase paramedic-level service to the area, help reduce advanced life support response times, and provide patient transport to a local hospital sooner than before.

Oso (WA) Fire Department’s Station 37 Robbed; $30k Worth of Equipment Gone

Friday night, as the Oso (WA) Fire Department was responding to a call, thieves made off with $30,000 worth of equipment and damaged the station.

Stolen items include two Jaws of Life, two chainsaws, a metal cutoff saw, a Honda generator/scene light, and several Makita 18v cordless power tools.

“If you see or hear of any of these items or if you saw any suspicious activity at the station, please contact the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office,” the department writes on Facebook.

19 Dead After Space Heater Sparks New York City's Worst Fire Disaster in 30+ Years
