The Wausau (WI) Fire Department has opened its Station 2 as a warming shelter.
“If you are cold and need a place to go please find your way to 3017 Seymour Lane,” the department writes on Facebook. “A Red Cross Volunteer will be greeting people overnight there. This is open to anyone who needs a warm place tonight.”
The department says it will have water, coffee, and snacks available.
“With over 3100 Marathon County residents without power, it is going to be a cold night. If you are without heat please find your way to Wausau Fire Department Station Two located at 3017 Seymour Lane. You do not need to be a city resident. The warming shelter is open to anyone.”
